Building Ethical Economies – Rebaaz & SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth)
At the heart of Rebaaz is a mission to build a greener, fairer economy — and that mission aligns powerfully with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. This goal calls for inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all. And in a country like Pakistan, where informal labor dominates and sustainable infrastructure is lacking, this goal becomes even more urgent.
Rebaaz is helping shape this future by intentionally designing a business model that prioritizes ethics, transparency, and inclusivity. We don’t just sell products — we create micro-economies of change. Every vendor we onboard is a small business or artisan entrepreneur who benefits from digital reach, fair exposure, and a 70% share of each sale.
Many of our partners work in low-income communities, creating sustainable products from recycled fabric, scrap wood, and biodegradable materials. These are not just crafts — they are income-generating, skill-enhancing enterprises. By giving these entrepreneurs a digital storefront and free marketing, we reduce the entry barrier to commerce and amplify their visibility in an otherwise saturated market.
What’s more, Rebaaz avoids exploitative sourcing and mass production practices. We invest in relationships, not just transactions. Our vendor agreement ensures that all partners follow sustainable and ethical production methods, from fair labor conditions to responsible material use.
In addition, our future roadmap includes integrating members of the disabled labor force into warehousing, packaging, and backend support. We’re working toward a logistics system that doesn’t just move products — it creates livelihoods. Whether it’s part-time jobs, flexible remote work, or community-led fulfillment hubs, our aim is to make ethical employment the default, not the exception.
The long-term goal is to scale without compromising integrity. That’s why Rebaaz remains transparent about its sourcing, commission structures, and support systems. Through fair trade practices, gender inclusivity, and climate-conscious design, we ensure that growth doesn’t come at the cost of people or the planet.
As we grow, so do the stories — of women earning independently, of trans vendors breaking barriers, of artisans turning waste into beauty, and of consumers learning to buy better. Through Rebaaz, we’re not just contributing to economic growth. We’re helping rewrite what ethical commerce looks like in Pakistan — one conscious choice at a time.
