Empowering Change – How Rebaaz Advances SDG 5 (Gender Equality)
Gender equality is not just a human right It’s a powerful driver of economic growth, community resilience, and sustainable development. At Rebaaz, we believe that true sustainability must include the voices, talent, and leadership of women and marginalized genders. Our business model is intentionally built around this belief, aligning closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality.
From day one, Rebaaz has prioritized working with women-led, trans-inclusive, and underrepresented local businesses. In Pakistan, where many women face barriers to economic participation, from limited mobility to lack of access to digital tools, we offer more than a platform. We offer visibility, support, and a chance to scale their impact through digital commerce.
Our vendor onboarding process actively seeks out women entrepreneurs, especially those working in low-income or informal sectors, and helps bring their products to a national audience. These vendors are creating beautiful recycled fashion, upcycled homewares, and eco-friendly personal care products, many of them handmade with care, heritage, and creativity that would otherwise remain hidden.
Rebaaz doesn’t just provide a storefront. We provide storytelling—highlighting the real women behind the brands, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the environmental and social missions they champion. Every product comes with an origin story, making our platform not just a shop but a source of inspiration.
We also keep our operations and logistics intentionally inclusive. In future phases, we plan to onboard members of the disabled labor force into our packaging, marketing, and fulfillment networks. By doing so, we’re not only creating dignified jobs but also proving that equity is scalable.
Our success so far, from securing partnerships to building early traction with vendors, proves that when women and underrepresented communities are empowered, the ripple effects reach families, neighborhoods, and economies. Through Rebaaz, we are not only selling sustainable products. We are shifting power, closing gaps, and helping build a more inclusive green economy, one vendor at a time.
Gender equality isn’t a checkbox. It’s our foundation. And we are just getting started.
